NRC Athletes Ranked Top 20 in Nation

Two Squads With Top Ten Times, Four Ranked Top 20 at 2013 Youth National Rowing Championships!

By mid-afternoon on Sunday, June 9, 2013, when racing had wrapped-up at Melton Lake, in Oak Ridge, TN, Newport Rowing Club could claim four (4) nationally ranked crews – Men’s Lightweight 4+ (8th), Men’s Heavy 4+ (15th), Women’s Lightweight 4+ (17th) and Women’s Pair (16th).

Athlete Heart Research Study at Youth Nationals

Can sudden cardiac death (SCD), the leading cause of death in high-school aged athletes, be prevented by a simple heart screening? The Christ Hospital Health Network (Cincinnati, Ohio) , The University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center have partnered with USRowing to conduct The Athlete Heart Research Study.
